70th Annual Mercersburg Halloween Parade is Cancelled because of the Hurricane "Sandy" 
The Mercersburg Halloween Parade Committee met today and with regrets they had to make a decision to cancel the 70th Annual Mercersburg Halloween Parade. The decision was not made lightly. They realize that many individuals have put much effort into each Entry to make the Mercersburg Halloween Parade a success. This only the second time in 70 years the Halloween Parade had to be cancelled.
The decision was based on the State of Emergency declared by Pennsylvania Governor CORBETT, and because hurricane “Sandy” is predicted to hit the Mercersburg area on Monday October 29, 2012 and lasting through the rain date of Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
Because of the logistics involve the Halloween Parade will not be rescheduled.
