NJ Governor has issued a State of Emergency
Hurricane Sandy is a large Category 1 storm with maximum winds of 75 MPH and a forward speed of 9 MPH (NNE). Due to the slow nature of this storm, it is expected that it will affect our area Sunday (10/28) after sunset through Tuesday (10/30).
HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Rain: 3-6" of rain - localized flooding
Tidal: Winds are expected to prevent tide from receding - coastal areas may be impacted
Wind: Tropical winds (>40 MPH) are expected to begin Sunday after sunset and increase. Monday (10/29) winds are predicted to be in the 40-60 MPH range with gusts to 70-80 MPH.
