The Village of Worth Trick or Treat hours are 3pm until 7pm on Wednesday October 31st.

Keep safety in mind while Trick or Treating!

* Walk on the sidewalk. If there is no sidewalk, walk facing traffic.

* Cross streets at crosswalks or corners. Look both ways and keep looking for cars as you cross the street.

* Do not dart out from between parked cars.

* Make sure costumes are not so long that they can be tripped over.

* Use face-paint rather than masks, which can obstruct vision.

* Children younger than 12 should be supervised by an adult.

* Costume accessories should be made of a flexible material. Never let kids carry sharp objects.

* Trick or treat in groups.

* Attach a flashlight or glow stick to children’s costumes, to make them more easily seen by drivers.

* Give kids light-colored or reflective treat bags.

* Give a cellphone to older children who are trick-or-treating without an adult. Instruct them to check in occasionally. Call them if they don’t call you.

* Establish a planned trick or treat route, as well as a return time.

* Remind children to never enter a stranger’s house.

* Remind children to go only to homes that have the front lights on.

* Insist that candy be brought home for inspection before being eaten. Look for signs of tampering, such as torn wrappers or discolored items. If in doubt, throw it out.
