PRESS RELEASE: Class A Felony Meth Arrest - Finch

November 1, 2012

On October 5, 2012, Warsaw Police received information from a local retail store involved in the Meth Watch program that their loss prevention was following a male suspected of purchasing Methamphetamine production precursors. Loss prevention had previously contacted the suspect and at that time, the subject was identified as Jason L. Finch, age 39, of Warsaw Indiana. On this day, Finch was again in the store and purchased Lithium batteries at one register and then returned and purchased Coleman fuel. Before police could arrive, Finch had left. The resulting investigation provided Warsaw Police with the location of the precursors and verified who had purchased and possessed them, but Finch could not be located. A warrant was issued by the Kosciusko County Prosecutors Office for Finch for possession of precursors with intent to manufacture.
On Wednesday afternoon, October 31st, Warsaw Police received a tip that Finch was at 106 Boydston Street on the south side of Warsaw. Warsaw Police went to the residence to serve the warrant and located Finch inside. Police also located several active meth labs inside the home and the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team, which was already in Warsaw, was called to the Boydston address. Warsaw Police drug enforcement officers arrested Finch on the initial warrant and also with dealing in Methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a school, a class A felony. The Boydston address is in close proximity to Washington Elementary School and Warsaw Christian School
Warsaw Police were assisted by the Indiana State Police and Warsaw Fire Department. Additional charges may result as a part of this investigation. Warsaw Police continue to diligently work to reduce the influence of Methamphetamine in our community by aggressively pursuing those who possess, use, manufacture, or sell this dangerous drug. In Warsaw, drug tips may be called into the Warsaw Police Department at 574-372-9538.
