GPD would like to alert the community of possible traffic delays this afternoon as a result the GHS homecoming parade. 
The motoring public can expect delays and lane closures from about 5:45 pm to around 6:45 pm this afternoon around the downtown area. The Gainesville Square will be closed to all traffic during this timeframe. The main area of concern for motorist should be E. E. Butler Parkway; it will be closed periodically at Washington Street and Spring Street.
Motorists are asked to use alternate routes around the route to avoid any delays or congestion.
