LARCENIES FROM AUTOMOBILES
Recently, our City and surrounding communities have experienced a surge in larcenies from vehicles. Grosse Pointe City had wheels stolen from a Lincoln sedan at the apartments near Cadieux, wheels stolen from a Ford Escape on the 17500 block of Maumee, a window broken out of a vehicle in an attempted larceny on the 300 block of Washington, and an in-dash GPS stolen from a vehicle parked in a garage on Lakeland. There has also been multiple incidences in neighboring cities of stolen wheels.
Residents are reminded to take proper precautions such as locking their vehicles, not leaving valuables inside, locking garages....especially if they are attached to the home, and using wheel locks on their tires.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Sgt Almeranti
