Animals Need a License to Thrive
The Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA) is encouraging the community to help them save more homeless animals by licensing companion animals. From November 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012, Campbell, Monte Sereno, Mountain View and Santa Clara residents can license their companion animals with no late fees and spayed or neutered animal license fees will be reduced by half.
“Licensed animals wearing a tag are much more likely to be returned to their owners. In short, a license can be a lost animal’s ticket home,” says Albert Davis, SVACA’s Field Services Manager. “We highly recommend that all dog and cat owners take advantage of this very special offer, license their beloved animal friends, and help us save more of the community’s homeless animals. Quickly returning lost animals to their families leaves more space and frees up resources for SVACA to help the truly homeless animals of our community.” For information about how to license visit www.svaca.com or call 408-764-0344.
SVACA is also encouraging owners with unaltered animals to spay or neuter their pet at SVACA’s low cost spay/neuter clinic. The spay/neuter fee for dogs is only $100 and includes a license and rabies vaccination. Cats can be altered for $50 and also includes a license and rabies vaccination. For information about unaltered animal license fees and SVACA’s low cost spay/neuter clinic visit www.svaca.com or call 408-764-0358.
SVACA is a joint powers authority that provides animal care and control services to the cities of Campbell, Monte Sereno, Mountain View and Santa Clara. Adoption services and volunteer opportunities are open to all in the Bay Area.
