Aberdeen Police arrested a local man on drug charges Monday morning after a short vehicle chase. Nico’lachad Monroe, age 21, from a Hazelwood Drive address in Aberdeen was clocked on radar speeding near downtown Aberdeen. The man attempted to elude the officer and was stopped on Bethesda Avenue.
The driver was found to be in possession of individually packaged packets of marijuana. His vehicle was impounded by police and towed from the scene.
Mr Monroe was charged with multiple traffic related charges and felony possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana, possession drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place to sell controlled substance. He was transported to the Moore County Detention Center and held under a $7,500.00 secure bond pending a 12/5/2012 Court Date
