ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON
The Newton Police Department is reporting that on Thursday morning, November 22, 2012, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a female was the victim of an assault with a handgun, while on the second level of the Crown Plaza Hotel parking garage, which is located at 300 Washington Street, in the village of Newton Corner.
According to the 49-year-old victim, she pulled into a parking space, near the elevator on the second level of the parking garage. As she was getting out of her vehicle, she observed a white male, approximately 5’7” to 5’8” tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds, with brown eyes, clean shaven, wearing a black knit wool cap with a bill, and dressed in all black clothing approach her.
This male then took out from his coat pocket, a black colored handgun and in what is believed to be a Russian or Romanian accent, threatened the victim, to let him perform a sexual act on her or he would kill her. The victim put her hand in her purse and moved it around, which caused the suspect to back away.
The victim then fully got back into her vehicle and locked the doors. She then drove to the street level of the parking garage, where the hotel lobby is located and reported the incident. The victim last saw the suspect, walk to the stairwell and disappear
During this incident, the victim was not injured nor touched by the suspect. Police conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
A composite of the suspect will be attempted later on this date and will be made available if there is one.
