Synopsis:
On November 19, 2012, at approximately 1:17 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded for a report of a single vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the parking lot at 7514 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Officers learned that the pedestrian was struck by a 2000 GMC pickup that was backing up in the parking lot, causing the pedestrian to become lodged under the truck. Officers from the Traffic Safety Section responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
Investigation revealed that a 2000 GMC Pickup was backing up south in the parking lot when it struck a pedestrian, who was walking south in the parking lot. The driver and a citizen pulled the pedestrian out from under the truck and began CPR while calling emergency services. Anne Arundel County Fire Department Paramedics transported the victim via ambulance to University of Maryland Shock Trauma with life threatening injuries, where she is listed in critical, but stable condition.
