ON November 27, 2012 Giles County sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Jim Storey was assisting probation and parole and went to 860 Chapman Hollow Rd with the intent of arresting thirty-one year old Michael Jason Rutherford on a violation of probation. Rutherford was on probation from a previous conviction of manufacturing methamphetamine from Maury County. While inside the residence officers noticed methamphetamine making materials and equipment in the residence. Investigator Michael Thomason and Deputy Scott nations along with Office of Emergency Management officials Barry Whitt and Jeremy Holley responded to investigate the meth lab and collect evidence.
The Giles County Hazardous Materials Team was called to decontaminate several persons who had been inside the residence. Officers located materials to lead them to believe that methamphetamine had been cooked in the residence at least three times.
Officers also seized a surveillance camera from the residence, three shake bottles and two meth generators and a multitude of paraphernalia and other meth making precursors. There was evidence that children lived in the residence and after further investigation it was learned there were two children ages five and two did reside in the residence.
Arrested were:
Michael Jason Rutherford 31 years old and charged with violation of circuit court probation, violation of general sessions court probation, Haley’s law aggravated child abuse and neglect, intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $126,750 in General Sessions and a hold for court out of Circuit Court
Robin Darrell White 41 years old charged with Haley’s law aggravated child abuse and neglect, intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $126,000
Jessica Renee Kennedy 30 year old charged with Haley’s law aggravated child abuse and neglect, intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $126,000
