ROBBERY - ARUNDEL MILLS
On November 23, 2012, at approximately 2:19 a.m., Anne Arundel County Police officers responded to a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Maryland. Officers spoke with the 14-year-old male victim, who indicated that he was approached by a group of male suspects at approximately 2:10 a.m. as the victim exited the Bed Bath and Beyond store in the mall.
The group of approximately five suspects walked up behind the victim and one of the suspects punched the victim as he reached the sidewalk. One suspect stole a bag containing property the victim had just purchased. After the robbery, the suspects fled on foot towards the Bass Pro store. The suspects were described as black males between the ages of 17-21, wearing black “North Face” jackets and blue jeans. The victim suffered a minor injury, but his parents were contacted and medical treatment was declined at the scene. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.
Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Western District are actively investigating this incident. Surveillance footage from that morning has been obtained and still photos of several “persons of interest” are being distributed publicly.
Additionally, a depiction of the jacket that was stolen from the victim is also being released.
