Order of the Towman Award
Town of Camillus, New York – Onondaga County, the Camillus Police Department takes great pride in reporting that Mr. Daniel Meyer, owner of Meyer's Towing has been selected as a recipient of the 2012 “Order of the Towman Award”, sponsored by American Towman.
Mr. Meyer has been a towman for the Camillus Police for over 25 years. His award nomination was submitted for his years of dedication to the Camillus Police Department as well as others throughout Central New York.
On Saturday November 17, 2012, Captain Steve Rotunno, and Staff Sergeant Rick Wise represented the Camillus Police Department as Mr. Meyers was recognized for his achievements at the American Towman Annual Awards Banquet.
A few attributes that contributed to his award are:
Mr. Meyer is instrumental in the West Genesee High School Impaired Driver simulation on the morning of the senior ball.
Mr. Meyer participates in the annual Onondaga County Lights on Caravan, which is the largest and oldest in the country. The purpose of this annual event is to honor and remember victims of drunk and drugged driving and to remind all drivers of the dangers of impaired driving at anytime, especially during the holiday season.
Mr. Meyer is a very active member of the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board. Safety board members are consistently seeking ways to improve traffic safety issues not only in the Camillus Community but also throughout Onondaga County.
