Church Burglary Suspect Arrested - Stanley D. Blackman
On November 6th at approximately 7:00am West Monroe Police officers responded to 711 N. 7th St. St. Pascals Church in reference to a reported burglary of the Church. It was determined that during the night an unknown suspect or suspects entered the Church by force and removed several items of value from the Church before fleeing the area.
On November 21st at approximately 8:00am West Monroe Police were once again dispatched to 711 N. 7th St. St. Pascals church in reference to a reported burglary of the Church. It was determined that an unknown suspect or suspects again entered the Church by force and removed several traceable items of value from the Church before fleeing the area.
On November 28th at approximately 8:30pm a suspect who was identified as Stanley D. Blackman, 43, of West Monroe, was located at a discount store in West Monroe attempting to make purchases with stolen monetary instruments which were taken in the original burglaries.
Blackman was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the West Monroe Police Department where he was interviewed by Detectives. Blackman denied having any knowledge of the burglaries, however several additional stolen items from the victim were located within his vehicle.
Blackman was booked into the West Monroe Correctional Center and charged with two (2) counts of Illegal Possession of Stolen Property, three (3) counts of Theft by Fraud and one (1) count of Attempted Theft by Fraud. Blackman was subsequently transferred to the Ouachita Parrish Correctional Center to await bond.
