Hazardous Weather Watch, Flood Watch and Wind Advisory Issued for Folsom from 10 PM Tonight to 4 PM Sunday.
The Sacramento Office of the National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Watch, Flood Watch and Wind Advisory for Folsom and all other areas of Sacramento County starting at 10:00 PM tonight through 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 2, 2012.
A significant winter storm system will move through Northern California tonight and Sunday bringing periods of heavy rain. Rainfall amounts up to 3" predicted overnight and Sunday morning. Urban and small stream flooding is likely in all areas, including Folsom. Be aware of roadside flooding during this period when driving vehicles.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts from the NWS and be alert for possible flooding warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
A Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10:00 PM this evening to 4:00 PM Sunday for strong 15 to 25 MPH southerly winds with gusts up to 40 MPH.
A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts of 40 MPH or higher are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult especially for small cars and high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
