The Los Angeles Police Department, Valley Traffic Detectives are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on December 1, 2012 at 8:20 p.m., on La Tuna Canyon Road and the Foothill Freeway.

The collision occurred when 19-year-old Montrose resident, Arash Sanei lost control of the 2005 Lexus ES330 he was driving. Sanei was approximately one mile from the Foothill Freeway on La Tuna Canyon Road when his vehicle began to spin out and collided into a cement guard rail killing the 17-year-old passenger in the front seat. The driver and the other passenger in his car, 20-year-old, Steven Dwight Alonso suffered moderate injuries and received treatment at a local hospital.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
