The Cleona Borough Police Department has completed the Click it or Ticket Program which is a grant program to conduct seat belt & traffic enforcement details between the dates of November 18 and December 4th. The program serves as the kick off to Pennsylvania's Operation Safe Holiday campaign that focuses on occupant protection as well as aggressive and impaired driving.
The Cleona Borough Police Department received the grant from the PA North Central Highway Safety Network to pay overtime hours for officers to participate in the enforcement details. Borough Police issued 24 traffic citations for violations including seatbelt and speeding related offenses.
Buckle Up PA is a project funded through PennDOT dedicated to raising the seat belt usage level in Pennsylvania through increased enforcement, public awareness and education. The partnership is comprised of municipal police departments, the Pennsylvania State Police, PennDOT, the US Department of Transportation and community groups and organizations.
