Mr. Harley’s next of kin have been located and notified. Detectives will continue to consult with the State’s Attorney’s Office regarding this case. There is no additional information at this time.
INJURED SUBJECT (UPDATE) SEVERN
On the morning of December 6, 2012, members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Western District responded to the 8000 block of Fair Breeze Drive in Severn for a report of a sick or injured subject. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male lying on the ground. Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the victim to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where he currently remains in critical condition.
The Anne Arundel County Police Criminal Investigation Division responded and initiated an investigation. Detectives interviewed several witnesses, and gathered evidence. The circumstances surrounding the victim’s injuries are still under investigation. Release of the victim’s identification is pending next of kin notification.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was involved in a physical altercation with another male friend when the incident occurred. As stated, the suspect is known to the victim and was interviewed as part of the investigation. Charges will be determined at the completion of the criminal investigation and consultation with the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
UPDATE:
The Anne Arundel County Police Department has identified the victim as David Lamont Harley, 45, 8035 Fair Breeze Drive in Severn, Maryland. He is presently being treated for life threatening injuries at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Assistance is being sought from the public with identifying and contacting any of Mr. Harley’s next of kin as decisions need to be made regarding his treatment.
