RALEIGH – United States Attorney Thomas G. Walker announced that on December 11, 2012 United States Chief District Court Judge James C. Dever III sentenced BEVERLY ALLEN BAKER, 41, to life imprisonment. Additionally, co-conspirators RONNEll LAMONT PERRY, 31, was sentenced to 108 months and 3 years of supervised release and WAYNE VICK, 47, received a sentence of 168 months followed by 5 years of supervised release. All three defendants lived in Bailey, North Carolina.

On June 27, 2012 a jury convicted BAKER of Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with intent to distribute two hundred and eighty (280) grams or more of Cocaine base (crack), in violation of Title 21 United States Code, Section 846, and 9 counts of Distribution of Cocaine base, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a)(1). On May 9, 2012, VICK pled guilty to one count of Conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute two hundred eighty (280) grams or more of Cocaine base (crack) and five (5) kilograms or more of Cocaine in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 846. On May 9, 2012, PERRY pled guilty to one count of distribution of a quantity of Cocaine base (crack) and aiding and abetting, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a)(1) and Title 18, United States Code, Section 2.

In March and April of 2011, officers from the Nash County Sheriff's Office used a confidential informant to make ten controlled purchases of Crack Cocaine from BAKER, and one controlled purchase of Crack from PERRY, at BAKER's residence in Bailey where she lived with PERRY. VICK was one of BAKER's Cocaine suppliers. BAKER and VICK sold narcotics in Nash County for over a decade.
