PRESS RELEASE: Attempted Robbery Suspect Arrested

December 17, 2012

On Saturday, December 15, 2012 at approximately 4:45 p.m., Warsaw Police were notified of a robbery in progress at Freedom Express gas station, located at 425 S. Argonne Road, in Warsaw. The station attendant advised that a white male entered the store and told the attendant that he had a gun and demanded all the money in the register, but then left the business walking Southbound. He was described as wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and a camouflage baseball cap. Officers were checking the area when the attendant called back and advised that the suspect had returned and was in the lot in a red pick-up truck. Warsaw Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody. The suspect, Joseph J. Bradley, age 53, of Claypool, IN, told officers that he was only joking and did not have a gun. After interviewing Mr. Bradley, it was determined that he did intend to rob the gas station but when he did he felt bad about it and left, but then returned to apologize to the attendant. Mr. Bradley was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and booked in for Attempted Robbery, a class C felony.
