Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is uniting with Saint John Bosco (SJB) High School and their sister school Saint Joseph (SJ) for a very special event on December 22, 2012. This event is appropriately named UNITE: A Celebration of Our Youth. A Celebration of Success. The LAPD, SJB and SJ will be celebrating and rewarding the academic success of 500 students in Southeast Area. These students will be selected from Jordan High School, Locke High School and District 12 High School. The middle schools in Southeast Area will also be represented. UNITE will be held at District 12 High School located at 8800 South San Pedro Street in the city of Los Angeles. Our hope for these 500 students is to receive a package containing goods for a Holiday Diner for four. If possible, UNITE would like to give an unwrapped toy for a member of the family.
Also in attendance, providing a college fair atmosphere, will be several institutions of higher learning to be announced at a later date. This will guide those students to a successful future. There will be representatives from The City Council and the Los Angeles Police Department as well.
UNITE would like to provide a Bar-B-Que (hamburger, hot dogs, and refreshments) for those attending this event. Entertainment will be provided by local radio station K-DAY. Additionally, the SJB High School marching band SJ High School cheerleaders will also be show casing their talent.
