CITIZEN ROBBERY
LAUREL
On December 18, 2012, at approximately 10:41 p.m., officers from the Western District responded to 3500 block of Marcey Creek Road in Laurel for report of a robbery that just occurred.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 37-year-old male victim, who advised he was reaching into his vehicle outside of his residence when he observed a maroon Honda Civic stop in the roadway. At that time, a male suspect exited the vehicle armed with a handgun, approached the victim and demanded money. The victim indicated that he did not have any money. The suspect then rummaged through the victim’s vehicle and went ultimately went inside of the victim’s residence, where the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing and re-entering the Honda Civic. The vehicle fled the area in an unknown direction.
Responding Officers were canvassing the area for the suspect vehicle when officers observed a vehicle matching that description on Russett Green East near Route 198. After initiating a traffic stop on the vehicle, the vehicle came to a stop on the parking lot of a Burger King. At that juncture, the passenger exited the vehicle and fled the area on foot while the driver of the vehicle was detained. Evidence inside the vehicle was later positively identified as having been removed from the victim’s residence during the robbery. Officers, a K-9 unit and the Aviation unit searched the area, but were unable to locate the second suspect.
Suspect #1: Christopher Morris Hillian, 20, of 9919 Greenbelt Road, Apartment 303, Lanham, Md. The suspect was charged with Armed Robbery, Robbery and related charges.
