The Canyon Police Department has address recent concerns about school safety in the Canyon Independent School District. Parents and children will see an increased presence at the schools in Canyon for the remainder of the school year. It is our plan to aggressively patrol the campuses and conduct periodic walk thoughts at each school. There have not been any substantiated direct threats made to any particular campus in Canyon. I want to assure you that the Canyon Police Department and the Canyon Independent Schools District are taking steps to insure the safety of the students and staff. The Canyon Police Department depends on the community to forward any information that might be perceived as a threat toward our students and school staff.
