The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and Springfield Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating suspect wanted in connection of a kidnapping and aggravated assault. Brandon Peters, 35, of Springfield was last seen in a 1999 Dodge van green or blue in color displaying Ga tag BUU3926. Peters entered a residence in the 300 block of Deer Road in Springfield, tied a female up and forced her to a nearby ATM. Once at the bank, the female struggled to get out of the vehicle where she was eventually run over by the van Peters was driving. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Investigators believe that the suspect knew the victim and that she was not a random target. The van has been reported as stolen. Peters has an extensive criminal history and may be armed and dangerous.
