Chief Christopher L. Elg, accepts the position of Chief of Police in Tequesta Florida

The West Monroe Police Department announces that Chief Christopher L. Elg, has officially accepted the position of Chief of Police as of today in Tequesta, Florida, which is located in Palm Beach County near Jupiter Island.

Chief Elg began his service with the City of West Monroe in January 2004 and has dedicated 9 years of his professional career to working alongside the men and women of the West Monroe Police Department serving the citizens of West Monroe. Just a few of the many significant accomplishments that occurred during Chief Elg’s leadership was the completion of 18 classes of the Citizens Police Academy with over 400 citizens having graduated, three very successful reaccreditations of the department with each one being better than the last and the introduction of increased technology to include being selected as an agency recognized as a “Best Practices” agency in the use of social media.

Chief Elg said “It has been a career highlight and an honor to serve with the men and women of the West Monroe Police Department. Together we have provided a high level of professional service to the community which continues to make West Monroe a great place to live and work.”

“Nine years ago when we moved here we quickly fell in love with the community and made many friends here. While it is bittersweet to be leaving, we are excited about the chance to live and work in a coastal community which will afford us many great opportunities to enjoy as a family.”

Chief Elg begins his new position on February 4th, 2013.

These true public servants are second to none. Their dedication to protect and serve this community is unparalleled and I will miss them tremendously.
