The City of Portage Police Department is releasing the following information pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted of sex offenses. This sex offender is currently serving a sentence in the Columbia County jail with Huber privileges. He is allowed to leave the jail for employment purposes, to seek employment, and for other required appointments. He is under the supervision of the Portage Office of Probation/Parole (608) 742 4020. He is not to drink alcohol, take illegal drugs or have any contact with minors. This notification is not intended to increase fear but to inform; an informed community is a safer community. This sex offender is NOT wanted by the police at this time.
