Camillus Police awarded AAA Platinum Award

CAMILLUS, NEW YORK, January, 11, 2013 – Chief Thomas M. Winn and Town Supervisor Mary Ann Coogan take great pride in reporting that the Town of Camillus has been selected as a recipient of the Automobile Association of America’s highest Community Traffic Safety Award the (Platinum Award) for 2012.

On Wednesday January 9, 2013, Chief Thomas Winn, along with Town of Camillus Councilman William Davern represented the Town of Camillus at the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board Awards Luncheon held at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo.

Platinum Awards are given to communities that statistically demonstrate measurable effectiveness in addressing local traffic safety issues.

The Town of Camillus has been a recipient of this prestigious award for five of the past six years, and is one of nine (9) municipalities in New York State that was selected for the platinum award in 2012.

In addition to Camillus, Liverpool and Manlius, they are: Brockport, Fulton, New York City, Old Westbury, Tuckahoe and White Plains, NY.
