Mason: Sheriff Wriggelsworth is please to announce the year end statistics of the successful DART program which concluded their initial program in 2012.
The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office DART Program, a cooperative alternative sentencing project with the 55th District Court reported in 2012:
• The program was staffed by volunteer Special Deputies
• The program patrolled county roads on 29 Saturdays in 2012
• Over 382 dead animals were picked up by sentenced participants
• Over 1500 miles of the county were traveled
• 21 sentenced non violent offenders successfully completed the program
• 32 days of confinement were deferred to this program
• $1600 was saved in 2012 for the taxpayer in jail space
