SADDLE RIVER POLICE DEPARTMENT
This is an advisory from the Saddle River Police Department. The purpose of this update is to notify our residents about a recent increase in Auto Thefts and Burglaries in northern Bergen County. These actors have been targeting homes in affluent neighborhoods looking to steal high end vehicles and commit residential burglaries. Residents are asked to report anything suspicious as soon as it is observed, and we mean anything. Officers will respond to and investigate all calls regarding suspicious activity. We would like to remind residents to exercise caution should they be confronted by suspicious individuals. The following tips may reduce your chances of becoming a victim;
 Leave interior and exterior lights on to make your home appear occupied.
 Remove any keys or key fob devices from all vehicles, including vehicles in your garage.
 Remove the garage door openers from your vehicles and keep the vehicles locked.
 Please remove any jewelry and valuables from your bedrooms.
 If you have an alarm system, use it.
