Please be aware of possible home improvement scams that are showing up in our area. The suspects usually go door-to-door offering to perform home improvements at incredibly discounted prices. They then either perform part of the work and demand more money or perform sub-standard work and demand more money to fix the problems they have caused. Make sure you use licensed, reputable companies for any of your home improvement needs. Contact the police immediately if you feel you are being taken advantage of by these types of scams.
PLEASE NOTE: We have not received any reports of actual victimizations here in Tyrone, but we have had citizens advise us that they have been approached recently. We are passing this information along as a proactive measure.
