No Foul Play Suspected in Infant's Death at Day Care
North Hills. Detectives are investigating the death of a two-and-a-half month old infant boy who did not respond to attempts to revive him after he apparently stopped breathing at the day care center where he had been left for the first time in North Hills.
Just after 5 PM, Monday evening, the caregiver gave CPR and called paramedics immediately when she discovered the baby was not breathing as she prepared him to go home with his father. Paramedics arrived and took over resuscitation measures. The infant was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, but doctors were unable to revive him.
Detectives from LAPD’s Abused Child Unit (ACU) and the Coroner’s investigator examined the scene and the child and found no evidence of foul play.
The death remains classified as undetermined, pending an autopsy. The Coroner’s Office will determine the manner and cause of death.
Kary’s Daycare Center is located on Marklein Avenue in North Hills.
