Clarinda declares snow emergency

SUBJECT: CITY OF CLARIND DECLARES SNOW EMERGENCY
The City of Clarinda, Iowa has declared a snow emergency in effect beginning at 5:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, January 29, 2013 through 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Parking restrictions will be in effect during the duration of the snow emergency.
The applicable ordinance is as follows: 69.13 SNOW REMOVAL. No person shall park any motor vehicle or other apparatus upon any street of the City that will obstruct the removal of snow, sleet or ice when there has been an accumulation of two (2) inches or more. Any vehicle left parked on any street in such a manner as to obstruct removal of snow, sleet or ice may be removed to a cleared area upon the street or impounded. No person shall recover any impounded vehicle without first paying the costs of removal and storage.
