SHOOTING GLEN BURNIE
On January 28, 2013, at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers from the Northern and Eastern District responded to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie for a report of a shooting victim.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 23-year-old male victim, who reported that he was sitting in his parked vehicle in the 7800 block of South Hampton Drive in Glen Burnie when a male suspect approached him, displayed a handgun and announced a robbery. The victim attempted to drive away from the scene, but was subsequently shot by the suspect who fired a round into the victim’s vehicle. The suspect fled on foot into a wooded area while the victim drove himself to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment.
The victim was later transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma for further treatment, where he was listed in stable condition.
