Upstream Dams opened... Flooding in areas adjacent to Patuxent River.. Avoid Brock Bridge Rd, Patuxent Rd....
Dams in Howard and Prince George's County upstream of the Patuxent River are being opened due to high water conditions as a result of heavy rain yesterday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the areas downstream of these dams, which includes areas in Anne Arundel County.
Several roads, including Brock Bridge Road and Laurel; and Patuxent Road in Odenton are currently closed due to high water.
TURN AROUND - DO NOT DROWN !!!
If you live in low lying areas near the Patuxent River, consider evacuating your home. A day shelter has been opened at the Maryland City Fire House in Laurel.
The expected is expected to continue to rise over the next several hours.
