4th Annual Recognition Award Luncheon hosted by GDBD and Rotary Club of Dallas
On February 6, 2013, at 12 noon, Safer Dallas Better Dallas and the Rotary Club of Dallas will present a number of awards as well as a check for $200,000 to the County’s Animal Cruelty Unit during a luncheon at the Chaparral Club in the Sheraton Hotel located at 400 N. Olive Street, Dallas, Texas. Awards will be presented to citizens and members of the Department for their outstanding service to the community. Among those being honored is Deputy Chief Scott Walton. He will be awarded the Dallas Police Department’s Distinguished Service Award for his service to the community. He has been cited by Chief David Brown as “an outstanding example of a law enforcement officer who has made highly significant and innovative contributions to the Dallas Police Department.”
Also receiving an award is Deputy Chief David Pughes and the officers and citizens of the Northwest Patrol Division. They will be honored with the 2012 Neighborhood Property Crime Reduction Award. Deputy Chief Pughes and the officers and citizens of the Northwest Patrol Division achieved an 18% reduction in property crime last year.
The goal of Safer Dallas Better Dallas is to protect the citizens of Dallas from becoming victims of crime and engage them in a partnership with the Dallas Police Department; to support the efforts of Dallas police officers; and to make Dallas America’s safest big city.
