Two suspects arrested by Mountain View Police officers for burglarizing a storage room at 707 Continental Circle.
On Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at 5:49pm, Mountain View Police officers responded to 707 Continental Circle when a resident alerted MVPD to a storage room being broken into. The suspects, 33 year old Lawrence Ovadia from Los Altos (top photo) and 28 year old Sterling Winterhalter from Mountain View (bottom photo), were seen burglarizing the storage unit and fleeing in a dark colored pick-up truck. Several minutes later, officers located the vehicle parked in the Goodwill parking lot (855 E. El Camino Real) occupied by Ovadia. Winterhalter was outside the vehicle and saw officers arrive.
Winterhalter fled on foot but was located and detained at the nearby Lucky’s grocery store by officers. Both suspects were identified as well as the stolen property located in the truck. The subsequent investigation led officers to other stolen property that detectives are currently trying to match up with victims. Ovadia and Winterhalter were booked at the Santa Clara County Main Jail for a variety of theft related charges including Burglary, Conspiracy, and Possession of Stolen Property.
