MVPD responds to Mountain View High School on report of camouflage clad person. Student arrested for causing disturbance.
This morning, at 8:17am, MVPD received several phone calls reporting a male subject dressed in camouflage and wearing a gas mask. All MVPD patrol units, school resource officers, traffic units, and detectives responded immediately to the school. Los Altos PD responded to assist as well. A perimeter was quickly set up around the school and units saturated the neighborhood looking for the subject. Patrol officers recalled contacting a similarly dressed subject months ago and based on that information, were able to identify and determine that the likely subject was a student at Mountain View High School. School resource officers contacted the student in class and he admitted to the prank. This all took place while class was in session so no students were affected and their safety was NOT in jeopardy at any time. No weapons were involved.
The 18-year old student, Christopher Egerton from Mountain View, was admonished for his actions and arrested for causing a disturbance on school grounds (415.5 PC).
