On February 23, 2013 Thurmont Police Officers began to investigate a complaint of sexual abuse involving a 13 year old female victim. The officers learned that repeated incidents occurred at the suspect’s room in the 400 Blk of N. Church St. Through numerous interviews, the investigation revealed that the incidents occurred between December 25, 2012 and February 14, 2013. The suspect was identified as: John James Salvi, age 71, of Thurmont. Mr. Salvi was charged on an arrest warrant for: 4(cts) of Sex Offense Third Degree; 4 (cts) of Sex Offense Fourth Degree; and 4 (cts) of Second Degree Assault. Mr. Salvi was arrested at 6:00pm on 2/24/13 and transported to Central Booking for processing. At his initial appearance, Mr. Salvi received a $150,000 bond and is currently being held at the F.C.A.D.C.
