Winter Storm 2/26/13

Ray county has received between 6"-8" of snow fall with another 1"-3" expected. If you don't have to be out please stay inside as the roadways are all snow covered. Road crews are working to clear the roads but due to the amount of snow received it is going to take some time.

Wood Heights Fire will be staffed as long as needed today to ensure we can respond to incidents quickly. If you need assistance please call dispatch at 816-470-2021. Calls will be prioritized by the nature of the call and we will assist as soon as we can. Please be patient as our response times will be greatly increased due to the weather but we will get to you if needed.

Make sure to ensure you furnance vents and outside gas meters are cleared of snow to allow them to properly vent. If you smell gas or have a CO alarm activate call 911 and do not open windows or doors. This will allow us to pinpoint the trouble area. Make sure everyone gets outside the house and does not reenter the residence till cleared by the fire dept.
