Former president of the California Schools Employment Association arrested for embezzlement
South Los Angeles Station detectives arrested 47 year old Rodolfo Sanchez at his home in Huntington Park this morning for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from the California Schools Employment Association's (CSEA) general fund while serving as the association's president from 2005-2012.
The CSEA represents custodians and other non-teaching staff employed by the Lennox School District. The alleged theft was uncovered by a routine audit of the association's books. Mr. Sanchez is believed to have used the stolen money to finance vacations and purchase a variety of personal use items.
Mr. Sanchez was booked at the South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station for grand theft (embezzlement). His bail was set at 100,000.
