Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding an assault that occurred on the 1800 block of Wickshire Avenue, Hacienda Heights, that resulted in the death of a male adult.
Investigators have learned that Industry Sheriff's Station deputies responded to the location regarding an altercation that occurred in which the victim sustained blunt force trauma. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to witnesses, the victim was walking when he was approached by the suspects who were riding in a beige SUV and a dark colored BMW. The suspects and victim exchanged words at which time the suspects exited their vehicle and attacked the victim. During the altercation one of the suspects drove the SUV and ran over the victim. The suspects then got back into their cars and left.
Some of the suspects who were involved in the altercation were located at a local hospital where they were seeking treatment for minor abrasions and a possible stab wound. The beige SUV was recovered at the hospital. The suspects are described as male Hispanics, 18-22 years old.
Investigators are still trying to determine the timeline of events that led to the assault.
