YUCAIPA, Calif. (KABC) -- A search is under way for a man who allegedly got into a shootout with a San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy.
The suspect has been identified as 52-year-old Brian David Forrett from Riverside.
The deputy was answering a call at a home in Yucaipa Friday morning when authorities say Forrett immediately became uncooperative and allegedly opened fire. The deputy took cover and returned fire.
The deputy was not injured and it is unknown if Forrett sustained any injuries. He got away after ramming his vehicle into the deputy's patrol car.
Authorities are now on the lookout for that vehicle. It's a white Buick with California license number 6SHF401. Investigators say the car has significant damage to the rear and has a shattered windshield.
Officials warn that Forrett is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him should dial 911.
He is described as a white man about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 185 pounds with brown and gray hair and hazel eyes.
