Up to $2,500 Reward Offered for Information Leading to Arrest of suspect in Weatherwax Pharmacy robbery.

Brooklyn, MI – March 5, 2013 – The Columbia Township Police Department and the Jackson County Tip Line are offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect believed to be responsible for a pharmacy robbery that occurred at the Weatherwax Pharmacy located at 105 North Main Street in Brooklyn, Michigan.

The cash reward is donated by pharmaceutical company Purdue Pharma L.P., which operates RxPATROL®, a collaborative effort between industry, pharmacists and law enforcement to collect, collate, analyze and disseminate information on pharmacy theft. Further information is available to authorized personnel at www.RxPATROL.org.

“It’s important for people to know that all information that we get is kept completely confidential. Callers never have to give their names or appear in court. The Jackson County Tip Line does not use any tape recording or caller ID devices,” said Ric Walton.

Robbery Details for Public Announcement:

The Columbia Township Police Department is investigating a pharmacy robbery that occurred at the Weatherwax Pharmacy, located 105 North Main Street in Brooklyn, Michigan. The Jackson County Tip Line and law enforcement officials are asking for the public’s assistance by offering a reward of up to $2,500, donated by Purdue Pharma L.P. for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this robbery.

•Date/Time: Monday, December 22, 2012 approximately 3:30pm

•Location: Weatherwax Pharmacy, 105 North Main Street, Brooklyn, Michigan

•Description of Events: Suspect entered through the front door, went directly to the pharmacy area then displayed a handgun and pointed it at employees while he demanded controlled substances. The suspect fled out the front door after he was given
an undetermined amount of Oxycontin.

•Suspect Description: Suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’ 6 to 5’ 10”,in his twenties, with a thin build. His face was concealed.
