German Polizei Officers visit South Los Angeles Station
South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station welcomed German Police Constables Andre Bolz and Denny Laughammer to the station today, as part of a month long international exchange program.
During their stay in Los Angeles, Constables Bolz and Laughammer have visited various sheriff’s department facilities and patrol stations where they have participated in ride-alongs and other programs in order to learn more about American law enforcement.
Captain Eli Vera, Commanding Officer of South Los Angeles Station, was extremely excited that Constables Bolz and Laughammer chose to visit South Los Angeles Station saying, “not only is this an opportunity for Constables Bolz and Laughammer to learn about us, it is our opportunity to broaden our perspective by learning how police work is done in Germany.”
When asked about their impression of South Los Angeles Station and the sheriff’s department, Constable Laughammer didn’t hesitate answering saying “I’m ready to move to the United States and become a police officer.”
Constables Bolz and Laughammer wrap up their stay in Los Angeles by visiting East Los Angeles Station tomorrow.
