On March 10, 2013, Detectives from Western District’s, District Detective Unit were conducting surveillance at the Anne Arundel County landfill locate in the 300 block of Burns Crossing Road in Severn due to several recent theft from autos that took place there.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Detectives observed a suspect entered the landfill and proceed to an area where landfill trucks were parked. After approximately 45 minutes, the same subject was observed leaving the landfill. Several patrol officers and a K-9 unit apprehended the subject in a wooded area after a brief foot pursuit. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had removed nine batteries from several trucks and placed them outside of the fence line that surrounded the property. The suspect was arrested and transported to Western District, where he was processed and charged accordingly.

Suspect: Daniel Orlando Corona, 29, of 732 Hickory Trail, Crownsville, Md
