On March 14th, 2013 the Nash County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division conducted a drug investigation in the parking lot area of Red Lobster in Rocky Mount, NC. With the assistance of the Patrol Division CLARENCE EDWARDS and MATTHEW MCGEE were arrested for a drug violation. During the arrest, the driver (CLARENCE EDWARDS) failed to comply with Law Enforcement and was removed from the vehicle. With the assistance of the NCSO K-9 Unit, a K-9 sniff of the vehicle was conducted and K-9 REK indicated for the presence of narcotics. During a search of the vehicle, it revealed l 18.6 grams of Marijuana in separate packages, digital scales, a box of .22 bullets, and Ruger .22 long rifle. CLARENCE EDWARDS was charged with PWISD Marijuana, Conspiracy to sell Marijuana, Maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and Possession of drug paraphernalia. MATTHEW MCGEE was charged with PWISD Marijuana, Conspiracy to sell Marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Possession of firearm by felon.
