HWY 101 - SANTA ROSA - SHOOTING INCIDENT
On 3/15/13, at 7:27 am, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatch to a reported shooting on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa. It was determined that the incident occurred at about 6:00 am and was initially handled by the CHP. Sheriff’s Violent Crimes Detectives responded to investigate and determined that the female victim had been driving her vehicle on northbound Highway 101 just south of the River Rd exit, when she noticed a vehicle tailgating her as she drove in the number one lane.
Before the victim could change lanes and allow the other vehicle to pass, the other vehicle moved into a position besides her and someone shot at the victim’s vehicle. The victim heard but did not see the shot fired and assumed her tire had gone flat as the suspect vehicle sped off. The victim arrived at work shortly thereafter and discovered an apparent bullet hole to the passenger side of her vehicle. The victim was unharmed.
The suspect vehicle is described as a large maroon or burgundy colored SUV. Both the driver and front seat passenger of the SUV were described as white or Hispanic males of unknown age. The victim stated that the SUV was being driven “erratically” both before and after the incident. The victim’s identity will not be released at this time.
Anyone with information regarding this incident, the suspects involved or the suspect vehicle is asked to please contact Detective Sal Borruso at 707-565-2185.
