TOWN OF NORTH CASTLE -WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 10 AM EDT TUESDAY...
A late season winter storm will impact our region starting tonight and through Tuesday. A low will track into our area this afternoon and move through our region during the overnight hours and through the day tomorrow. The system will bring with it precipitation and a small window of possible strong winds.
Snow will move into the area County-wide late this afternoon and through the evening commute. As we move into the evening and overnight hours a possible change over in southern Westchester to a freezing rain and all rain event may take place. At this time, the colder solution of an all snowfall event looks to be primarily in Northern Westchester. This change over will be based on the temperatures aloft, and if the warm air should push into our area, will dictate when and where the changeover will take place. Snow fall totals in southern Westchester at this time look to be around 1-3 inches. A longer change over will mean higher snow fall totals. Northern Westchester looks to be more of 2-6 inches of snowfall. A gradual push of the system into tomorrow will have all snow change over to sleet/freezing rain and all rain during the day tomorrow.
