Unedited Press Conference Regarding Sexual Assaults in the Northeast Division
Chief Brown's Press Conference in its entirety held on March 19, 2013 regarding the recent sexual assaults that have occurred in the Northeast Division.
On May 19, 2013, at about 6:45 A.M. an unknown suspect forcibly entered a residence by kicking in the door located on Aldwick Drive and sexually assaulted the female occupant. The suspect is described as a Latin male in his 20’s, light-skinned, thin build, and a thin mustache. The victim said that the suspect spoke English with a Spanish accent. He wore a gray hoodie and black leather gloves. The suspect may have a scratch somewhere on his body from the victim of today’s assault.
The Sexual Assault Unit is currently conducting a comprehensive investigation of the sexual assault offenses. The Sex Offender Apprehension Program officers and the Northeast Division have implemented an operation that is targeting known area sex offenders. Patrol, bike, and mounted officers have been deployed in the area to provide additional surveillance to the surrounding area. A collection of forensic evidence is on-going.
Crime Stoppers has offered a reward up to $5,000 leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect in these sexual assaults. A tip line has been established. Anyone with information related to these offenses are asked to contact the Dallas Police Department’s Northeast Division at 214-670-4415.
