The Columbia Township Police Department recently completed an investigation involving stolen property.

The Columbia Township Police Department recently completed an investigation involving stolen property. This incident is related to an address on Michigan Street in Brooklyn, which has been the location of several MIP parties, and additional calls.

On February 20, 2013, Sgt. Niles was following up on a prior/separate criminal complaint at an address on Michigan Street in Brooklyn. The residents there complained that the interior of the residence had been damaged during the prior incident at the residence, and Sgt. Niles was taken inside the residence to be shown the damage.

At that time, he noted three separate road signs inside the residence, attached to the walls of the residence. Included was a sign for Francis Street, from the City of Jackson, a “Caution Children Playing” sign from near the schools in Brooklyn, as well as a large “US 127/Brooklyn” sign from Cement City Road and Dearmyer Road.

After completing the investigation, the report was forwarded to the Jackson County Prosecutor. On March 22, 2013, misdemeanor warrants were issued for Troy Eberenz and Alex Eberenz, both 20 years of age, charging them with receiving and concealing stolen property.

They were arrested by Sgt. Niles at their residence in Brooklyn on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, and lodged at the Jackson County Jail. Both have been arraigned and have bonded out of jail.
